Secondary school pupils should take at home Covid tests twice a week – here’s why.

Regular testing is quick, easy, and free, and is key to catching the virus early and stopping it from spreading in our schools and communities. That’s why secondary school students and staff without Covid symptoms should be taking lateral flow tests …

Testing will continue at least until the end of the Autumn term, at which point the situation will be reviewed in line with the latest scientific guidance.

  1. The why is clear……… cases are rising and at a steady rate . School age children have the highest rates which are now bleeding through in to the wider community. In recent weeks there has been a sure and steady increase in the age groups which will be the parents of school age children and a slower but steady increase in older people who could be grandparents.
Control of this virus is key and the sooner the public accept that and act accordingly the faster it will be controlled.
